Moses “Love Keeps Me Going”
Growing up for me wasn't easy. I was born during a war crisis in my country and many bad things happened. During the war my father was killed by rebels and my family’s house was burned to the ground in my village.
The war did not end until I was 8 years old. After my father’s death, I had to be the provider for my family. My church wanted to help but they could not do much because they are such a small organization. In May 2014 I finished my high school education and it was during that month Ebola virus broke out in my country and a state of emergency was declared. The schools and businesses were closed.

I had to volunteer to gain work experience so I could eventually get a job that pays money. I was a volunteer Janitor in my local Church and at the same time I started volunteering in a small factory were they process water. At the factory I injured my right hand and four of my fingers were amputated. People often make fun of my disability and laugh at me; but I keep my head up and do not give up.
My sisters and mother live 66 miles away from me while I’m in school. My sisters work for food in the village and my mother is very sick with severe arthritis and cannot walk. I make the journey on foot once or twice a month to visit them.

My only hope now is to continue my education. No one has ever finished school in my family or in my whole community. No one has ever worked for the government or any organization. I am in school now and In the midst of all of this challenge, I believe it important to stand tall. It is important to be patient, because with patience one can behave correctly while waiting on the Lord. I believe I will one day be somebody of huge potential and to help my family and other people as well. My dream for the future is to become a positive change maker in my family, community, and Nation.

My life has not been easy; but love keeps me going. Love is the most important thing in life. Right now it is the love and support of my family and friends that keeps me going.
