“Everybody Deserves a Best Life”

I’m the Female Driver Liaison at Prime Incorporated. My job is to help women within the trucking industry (an industry that is predominantly male) and I support them with whatever problem they may be dealing with, and also guide them in the right path with a successful career with Prime.

We see a lot of women come through Prime that have been victims in their past or are currently victims and need help. That topic is just so rough for me. You can’t force somebody to get help for themselves. You can offer it, you can be there for them, but they have to know their own strength and be willing to accept help. Be willing to leave. Know that they’re strong enough to leave and know that they’re loved. And that there are people like me that will just wrap their arms around them and be there for them and do whatever we need to do to help them get to safety. And more importantly, to help them discover their best life. Because everybody has a best life. Everybody deserves a best life. All I can do is help them try to find it.

These women are so strong, beyond belief. Because it is such an emotional, mental prison that they’re in, not to even talk about the physical aspect of it. The mental prison. To be able to say that I’m done with that abuse and I’m going to completely start a new life and leave everything behind… that’s strength.

If I could say something to other large corporations, it would be to know your people. Every person within your corporation has a story, they have a battle. Know your people, invest in them, take time to spend with them. Know why they are the way they are. Because once you do, you will get the best work out of them. You know, Prime is the best company because they see what people are passionate about. If you put people in the right position, they will do their best work for you.
